I'm an artist with two 4-legged friends. They would be jealous if they knew where I spend my weekend hours. They are my buds, but art is my job. Maybe I could make an exception for this series of upcoming events.
This weekend I will start with the DogFest.
Grab a leash and be part of Canine Companions DogFest Walk ‘n Roll! It’s a community dog walk that supports the mission of Canine Companions for Independence. Put together a team of friends, family members and coworkers. Then fundraise to earn a cool DogFest prize. If you raise $100, you’ll get a DogFest bandana to sport at DogFest. Then come to DogFest for a tail-waggin’ good time!
Together we can change lives, one dog at a time!

A beautiful day in the town of Lincoln, a short drive from Sacramento. I enjoy being part of events that rally people to a cause and create an awareness to change. Family, friends & community members hold an Annual Cut-A-Thon in memory of Crystal Shawnee to help local families who are suffering from Cancer. I had plans to sit and enjoy the day, maybe play a card game or two. But the audience was continual and the conversations were wonderful. I especially appreciate the woman who donated funds for another woman to have all her grandchildren drawn. In my experience that kind of kindness is rare. But apparently in Lincoln, it's just the norm.
