I am amazed at the way the Stockton community and the surrounding areas have come to support the Stockton-Con. Mike Millerick and his team have created an iconic event that celebrates everything I love, comic books. Yes, there are other pop culture distractions, but I enjoy that at its core, Stockton-Con honors the tradition of comic books.
So, the studio I created, The Jagged Lines of Imagination Academy, invites me to host the Kids Zone. Its a section of the convention floor dedicated to those tired, and hungry (for comics) kids of all ages, and showcases the comic drawing process. I enjoy sharing this deep passion for all things heroes and drawn.
Also, I am returning to engage in a solo panel. Yes, just me and a microphone. And people show up! My goal is to highlight the comic art process, but it has become something of a local fan meetup. I see friends and to be friends that just love comics. In Year One, I grabbed individuals from the audience and drew them as heroes/villains. Year Two, we had a shout out demonstration on drawing a comic page. Year Three, who knows? (I titled the panel "Improve Your Storytelling, Secrets Learned The Hard Way")
