I am blessed to have a little bit of ability. So this season is a reminder to use that blessing to help others. On December 12, other Sacramento artists and I came together to use our talents to raise a little money to help the Children's Receiving Home of Sacramento.

Jason Dube of Scattered Comics is the organizer and Empire Comics was the host. It was a good turnout and was streamed live. In total $651 was raised. Thanks to all the patrons.

I used this session as an opportunity to start getting my Star Wars groove. I primarily worked with ink and washes.. I thought a Stormtrooper was a perfect start off piece. Easy in black and white. 

During the time, I also did a piece with Boba Fett, and another with Yoda. As I was still waiting for them to dry, they were sold to Joe online. He was so excited for the Stormtrooper piece that the came down to pick it up and enjoy the festivities.

Joe also put it to me if I enjoyed painting the Darths. Of course, on my list was to paint the best underused character of the Star Wars universe, Darth Maul. Before I had even put it on the table to dry and display, Joe bought it too.

I added a previous painted print to the online auction.  I hope that all the pieces found a great home. It's inspiring to see people doing what they enjoy, for causes that they support. Thanks to everyone involved.

Today, I was given an awesome commission to create the original members of the rap legends NWA. I scribbled out some basic shapes for each member, and then just pulled out the Sharpie and went for it. Cube was always the pudgy one, Eazy was the kid face, Dre has an alien head, Ren has solid cheek bones, and Yella just looks long. I also looked at their faces as elderly rap artists. Their features continue as they aged. I think they turned out pretty clean. What do you think?
