This is my second year drawing for the staff and students of Butte College. It was a scorcher! I was under the shade of the tent, but those who received a caricature really wanted one, it was free after all, because they stood in line, and the line was jammed till the end of the event.
High school can go by so fast. I barely remember my years at Oceanside High School. There was sports, a couple cute girls, many good times with friends. But after this evening, I wish I had an opportunity to celebrate the people who made me a success, my parents, and especially my mom. I hope that the young men of Jesuit High can look back at this evening as a highlight of their academic and social years. As the caricature artist, I wanted to capture the relationship and in many cases the similarities between mom and son.
My kids went to this school. Even they are now entering or are enrolled in high school, the still look forward to going back to their elementary school and seeing their former teachers, and staff members. This is one of the great community events, and so of course, I have to participate. This is my second year drawing caricatures for the Jamboree, and it was just as successful as the first! |
