It can be an oddly, lonely time during the holidays for a caricature artist. I go from one event to the next, and I can barely remember the people that I've entertained for hours. Then, every once in a while, an event has folks that are inviting, beyond the standard expectations. Sometimes, they share a drink, and even bring you into a game or two. The respect I have for those who plan for the enjoyment of all participants.

You ever been to one of those parties, you know the ugly sweater type? But what happens when the whole scene, from the decoration to the gifts to the games, is just presented so well that everything is just amazing. Well, try drawing caricatures in a room of talented women, whose day job is to make events look just like that.
Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night. Especially when I get a chance to capture the holiday through caricature. I was brought in as the alternative entertainment to a DJ, photo booth, or a carol chorus group. As the guests rolled in, I was busy the entire evening, even extending an hour past the scheduled time. It helps to have drink tickets, I wish I could have taken more pictures of the Sardi's inspired wall. We had all the pictures taped along the bar walls. But the line was so long that I had to keep moving. The group shot was by request, just so you know. Thank you Andrea for making this night happen.
Caricatures are popular in so many settings. On this evening, Pat invited me to draw for his client appreciation evening. I have worked with Pat before so this was a comfortable setting. It was a nice addition to the event, as individuals and couples walked in to live music, great food, an ME. Most of the couples had never been drawn together, so it is such a pleasure to be the first caricature artist to capture them in ink. There were laughs, and compliments, and I look forward to joining Stifel and Pat again.
