It was rain or shine. And I guess God went with rain. The Doggy Dash at WIlliam Land park was a success for me, if just because it gave me a chance to break in my new pop up tent. The rain came down, but surprisingly, the dog and their human friends came out. I was busy the entire event, and like it happens so often, I closed out the place as one of the last vendors to close up shop. After a successful artist series in Southern California, it sure is nice to be back home in Sacramento, California. My first event back was for to entertain gusts at the Wag Hotel Easter Egg Hunt at McKinley Park. On a beautiful day, it was wonderful to meet and sketch all the dogs and their best pals. Caricature art has become my life force here in Sacramento. So isn't it a blessing to share that with organizations who are the lifeblood of our community, like the Sacramento SPCA? Dogs, especially rescued dogs, are very dear to my family, and in the last year I have made an effort to reach out, and give to the people who love and support the relationship formed between a person and their pet. October was a pretty good run, not counting the SF Giants loss to the Cubs. I've had an opportunity to do a few live engagements with my favorite subjects, Man's Best Friend. This is my second year working with Green Valley Pets of El Dorado Hills at Dogtober. Thanks to the staff for helping me keep the crowds lively on a warm day in the shade.
