I have been asked to create a life plan for my family and myself. Coat tailing the last post, I want what is "in the best interest of the children." But here I'm going to reveal a little of my selfishness.
My brother put in my hands a book called The 4 Hour Workweek. It is a manual of sorts to developing self control of your work life. It details a lifestyle full of adventurous "mini-retirements" and setting boundries that enable you to reach and maintain your most effective and creative state. At the time I thought it was a dream life for slackers. But I have adapted some of the smaller concepts with some wonderful results. Now I am moving forward in prayer with a life that encompasses similar guidelines while working towards the 20-80% rule. That is that I can live off 20% and give 80% to good works. Dave Ramsey says it in a simpler way. "Live like no one else, so you can LIVE LIKE NO ONE ELSE! In faith I have a career plan and things are quickly lining up. It's scary leaving the stability of a 9 to 5. But by faith I expect greatness of myself and life. So in five years I will be working in a position that enables me to be the best man, father, and citizen. I will provide the needs of my family and have more to share with others. Good health , mind, body, and spirit. Be blessed, be bold, and demand God's favor. A shift is coming!
