I haven't had a life drawing session in almost 20 years. I still work out in my sketchbook, but I'm thinking it's time I consider going back to a true academic approach to my art. To inspire myself, I'm posting pictures from sessions back from my SFSU days. I look back at these pictures and think about how much fun and energy I had for the beginning of my art career. I drew at any location that offered live life drawing sessions. I remember those Wednesdays at the Castro Valley Center. The Thursdays at UC Berkeley with those amazing, wise artists who shared so much knowledge with me. That small artist café in the Mission, that though it creeped me out to draw in such a small room with all those throw pillows and old blankets, I drew some of my best pieces. There is still much to learn, and as I prepare to take classes with these "young guns" I hope to be able to hold my own, but better yet, showcase what I've learned along the art journey.
